Description
This is the mammoth project of the series. The entire abandoned network of East and West Sussex is looked at in some detail. Over 50 stations are looked at and countless interesting brick and earthworkings of particular engineering interest. From Rogate in the west to Rye in the east, East Grinstead in the north to Brighton in the south, no area is left untouched.
Fenced-off tunnels are walked through, abandoned viaducts, treacherously deep cuttings, any remaining brick structures recorded and any other point of interest found was recorded from as many angles as possible. A detailed look at what remains of the abandoned network and how it looked in 2006. Includes constant running commentary. A treasure trove for the railway enthusiast or historian who doesn’t want to spend weeks travelling around or a fortune in petrol !
